While in Oaxaca for the Week of the Day of the Dead, I was challenged to find and create art that transcended the blood and gore of a Mexican slaughterhouse. My goal was not to document the process per se, but rather to create a narrative laced with juxtaposition and serendipity, one that immerses the onlooker in the colors, textures and composition of the scene rather than the blood and horror of the slaughter.
